JAK Meyer


Following a career in the investment business and raising two young girls, Sydney and Kamryn, Janice and I decided to completely change directions and get into the wine business. We set out to establish ourselves as one of BC’s top wineries focusing on small premium Chardonnay and later Pinot Noir. As in business and my business models the plan was to surround myself with the best people I could in each area. We enlisted James Cluer and Rhys Pender to build our business plan. We hired Pierre Levesque to look after the vineyard and our final piece of the puzzle was to hire Chris Carson who had just returned to Canada after honing his skills and education in Central Otago. I now spend my days actively in sales, administration, tastings, events, viticulture, winemaking (cleaning tanks), landscaping and wherever else the experts will let me. Our tasting room was completed in 2010 and the tasting room staff and I look forward to seeing you at the winery.

Janice Stevens-Meyer


With a background of both public practice accounting, and many years in the food and beverage business, the winery has become the perfect career choice for Janice. She brings a keen interest and understanding of the business to the organization and is responsible for all the accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, and management. She is often seen at events or at the winery pouring wine.

Chris Carson

Winemaker & Viticulturist

Chris returned to Canada in 2008 after eight years spent in New Zealand, California and Montrachet. He brings his expertise in crafting award winning wines and also his New Zealand wife Jacqueline Kemp and son Jerry. Chris is hands on in the vineyard, following the grape from pruning to harvest and creating excellent wines. He especially loves the heartbreak grape, Pinot Noir and supervised the planting of 9,000 new Pinot Noir vines in early 2009 at our estate vineyard on McLean Creek Road. Chris has worked with many prestigious wineries including Akaura, Gibbston Highgate Estate, Hinton Estate Vineyard, Te Kairanga, Rippon Vineyard & Winery and Chard Farm Vineyard. He also spent time with Domaine Fernandand Laurent Pillot, in Chassagne Montrachet, Burgundy, France and Josh Jenson, Calera Wine Company. Chris has an impeccable reputation for producing excellence, including his Highgate Pinot Noir that won the Trophy for the best Pinot Noir at the Sydney International Wine Competition. The Pinot received gold medals from Sydney International Wine Competition, Wine Style for Asia Awards, Winewise Small Vigneron Competition and Silver at International Wine and Spirit Competition, Bragato and N.Z. International Wine Competition. Chris is a graduate of Lincoln University in Canterbury, New Zealand with his Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology and he brings with him his extensive enthusiasm and skills in all areas of winemaking and production.

Simone Ardiel

Assistant Winemaker

Raised on a farm in Ontario, Simone learned from young age the value of hard work on the job and at home where she is an avid gardener and home brewmaster. After graduating from the Winery and Viticulture Program at Niagara College in 2011, Simone spent nine vintages chasing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay around the world at premium international wineries such as Leeuwin Estates and Grosset Winery in Australia, Amisfield in New Zealand and most recently Domaine Fernand et Laurent Pillot in Burgundy, where our winemaker Chris Carson also trained. Closer to home, Simone worked with Tawse Estates and Le Clos de Jordanne in Ontario and Ponzi Winery in Oregon where she learned techniques of old and new world Pinot Noir. Simone joined our team as lead cellarhand for the 2014 vintage and in 2017 we were thrilled to welcome her back to the family as our assistant winemaker. She brings a wealth of experience to the Meyer team ranging from vineyard work to winemaking and has an extensive background working with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay focused wineries.

Ken & Heather Staicesku

Ken & Heather joined the team in 2011 after a recent move from Northern Alberta to explore their passion of landscaping and horticulture. Ken wears many hats here at MFV… viticulture assistant, assistant cellar-hand, warehouse manager, mechanic, builder, and in 2011 he was even one of our tasting room associates! Owner and operator of “Blue Bird Yardworks”, Heather and her side-kick Jesse keep our gardens looking stunning all season.

Monica Horning

Wine Club & Events Coordinator

Monica joined our team in 2013 after various career and travel adventures to explore her love for wine and the Okanagan lifestyle. She has successfully completed level 2 of Wine & Spirit Education Trust and holds a certificate in Business Administration. Monica is past president for not for profit organization Junior Chamber International (JCI) Penticton and current secretary for the BC Pinot Noir Celebration.

Angela Grant

Southern Interior BC Sales Representative & Cabana Coordinator

Angela was raised by a mother who could make the cheapest 1.5L of Chardonnay last sometimes up to a year, so it was much to her surprise when Angela took a wine class as part of the Hotel & Restaurant Management Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa that she did in fact actually enjoy wine! Angela has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in History from Cape Breton University.  She has completed Wine & Spirit Education Trust level 2 & 3 and enjoys continuing to learn about wine though traveling different wine regions of the world. Angela has worked as a Beverage Director for Redwater Rustic Grille in Calgary, managing their wine cellar of 250 wines & offering the staff education on wine.

Allison Brown – Cabana Hostess & Tasting Room Associate

Former teacher from Hawaii, Allison’s love for Meyer Pinot Noir had her convinced to move to the Okanagan. Right now, her favourite MFV wine is the 2016 Stevens Block Chardonnay.

Jeanna Campbell – Tasting Room Manager

After a career in the healthcare industry, Jeanna’s passion for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and dogs led her to Meyer Family Vineyards and she’s been a part of our tasting room team since we first opened the doors in 2010.

Jen Keast – Tasting Room Associate

Hailing from Vernon BC, Jen is the mother of 3 boys with a background in the healthcare industry. Jen’s love for Pinot Noir brought her to MFV. Jen’s favourite MFV wine is the 2015 Reimer Pinot Noir.

Francois Gras – Tasting Room Associate (missing from photo)

Originally from France, Francois spent some time in Vancouver working for a private wine store. After trying a 2013 McLean Creek Road Pinot Noir, Francois and his wife Celine were set on moving to the Okanagan.
