2009 McLean Creek Road Vineyard Pinot Noir-single vineyard-$40.00 *limit 6 per customer *

Our family owned ‘’Mclean Creek Road Vineyard’’ is located in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. The vineyard has a predominantly steep southerly aspect with the soil comprised of alluvial and glacial deposits making up a mix of gravelly and sandy loams. The pinot noir block is planted with five different French Pommard and Dijon clones. The fruit was hand harvested on the 6th of October. The fruit had perfect physiological ripeness at harvest with amazing, pure Pinot Noir characteristics.

The fruit was 100% whole cluster fermented which gives the wine more complexity, structure, length and ageabiltly. The wine was aged in 100% French oak (50% new) and transferred from barrel to tank after ten months and then returned to seasoned French oak barrels where it remained for another six months. We hope you enjoy this expression of the Meyer Family Vineyards terroir.

2010 Tribute Series Sonja Gaudet-single vineyard $35.00

Our family owned “Old Main Road Vineyard” is located on a terrace on the famed Naramata Bench, British Columbia. The vineyard has a gentle northerly aspect with the soil comprised of alluvial deposits making up a silt loam overlaying a clay loam. The fifteen year old vineyard is planted 100% with Chardonnay vines. The northerly aspect of the vineyard causes the vines to slowly ripen the fruit producing a greater spectrum of flavour while still retaining a good level of acidity and minerality. The fruit was hand harvested on the 24th and 28th of October.

At the winery the fruit was fed directly into the press with an ensuing long gentle pressing employed. Only the finest, purist juice from the early stages of the pressing was used for this wine with the more astringent so called “hard press” kept separate. A long cool fermentation began in stainless steel vessels where it remained for the majority of the ferment. The must was then transferred to 100% French oak (22% new) to complete fermentation. The wine was left ‘’sur lees” for 10 months without battonage. A natural Malo-lactic fermentation occurred in late spring.

The Tribute series recognizes a western Canadian for an outstanding achievement in their field. This year we pay Tribute to Sonia Gaudet. She is a bronze, silver and gold National Champion in the sport of Wheelchair Curling, a Two-time World Champion in 2009 & 2011 - and a Two-time Paralympic Gold Medalist in Torino 2006 and Vancouver/Whistler 2010.

2009 McLean Creek Vineyard - OK Falls $35.00

Within our family owned McLean Creek Road vineyard in Okanagan Falls lies a 1.2 hectare block of Chardonnay. The Chardonnay vines are grown in soils made up of broken Gneiss and alluvial based gravel and sandy loam. The moderately steep southerly aspect with an elevation of 380 metres is slightly warmer than its Naramata “Old Main Road”counterpart.

Aromas lean more towards the broken rock and alluvial gravel where the vines are grown with strong minerality on the nose and hints of tropical fruit and ginger due to the southerly aspect. Palate is smooth and elegant with a crisp finish.

An excellent example of Chardonnay’s place of origin when compared to the “Old Main Road Vineyard” Chardonnay

2010 McLean Creek Road Vineyard Pinot Noir-single vineyard-$40.00

Our family owned ‘’Mclean Creek Road Vineyard’’ is located in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. The vineyard has a predominantly steep southerly aspect with the soil comprised of alluvial and glacial deposits making up a mix of gravelly and sandy loams. The pinot noir block is planted with five different French Pommard and Dijon clones.

At the winery the fruit was gently de-stemmed with 25% left whole cluster. It was then gravity fed into small open top fermentors and allowed to cold soak. After cold soaking, a mix of indigenous and cultured yeast was employed to carry out a long fermentation peaking at 330C. After a post- maceration period and a gentle pressing the wine was transferred to 100% French oak barrels (33% new) where it remained for 10 months. A natural malo-lactic fermentation occurred in late spring.

2008 Micro Cuvée 3L Magnum $280.00 (Only a few bottles remaining)

Elite. Complex. Perfect.

Ultra Low Production: 44 - 3L magnums.

Yields went down in 2008 because of a devastating frost in the spring delaying growth and reducing yields. While the quality of the fruit was excellent the yields reduced the production of Micro Cuvée (the pinnacle of available fruit, barrels, experience, nerve and skill) to only two barrels.

Since production was below the threshold for a conventional release it was decided to go ahead with only large format bottles. Only 44 3L Magnums will be sold.

Old Main Road site has been producing exceptional wine since it was purchased and our team of Viticulturalists continue to tweak the vineyard to assure superior fruit to press every time. The vineyard is only 3.1 acres and sits on the Naramata Bench, with panoramic views overlooking Lake Okanagan. It faces West with a slight North slope which creates slow ripening and cool nights.

Meyer Family Vineyards is proud to bring you this hand-crafted wine. We hope you enjoy this wine as much as we enjoyed making it.

2008 Central Okanagan Vineyard Pinot Noir $40.00

In the 2008 vintage we produced only 150 cases of our Central Okanagan Vineyard Pinot Noir. This Pinot had excellent physiological ripeness at harvest with the seeds and stems showing good lignification, hence the wine has a bigger, tighter structure with great aging potential. The Pinot was 100% whole cluster fermented to give the wine more complexity, structure, length, longevity and aromas of spice and earthiness. The wine was aged in 100% French oak and transferred from barrel to tank after 10 months and then returned to seasoned French oak barrels where it remained for another 3 months.

The Pinot Noir has aromas of darker fruits such as black cherries and plums intermingled with smoky bacon and cinnamon with excellent minerality.

"Meyer Family Vineyards 2008 Pinot Noir Central Okanagan Vineyard Okanagan Valley $40 This young Pinot Noir shows complexity and purity of varietal expression that promises future greatness. Still somewhat closed, the delicate nose exhibits nuances of dark tree fruit, tobacco leaf and smoked bacon with a stony minerality. The richly textured palate features concentrated plum, black cherry and currant fruit combined with notes of dried herbs, black licorice and tomato puree backed by fine, dusty tannins. While it should be cellared for five or more years, it would benefit from decanting if served earlier. Pair with chicken, pork, veal or pasta with a tomato, pro-sciutto and wild mushroom sauce. mfv.com (MB)"
